Get On Board with Google Plus and Boost Your Traffic

Are you utilizing the latest social media tool to connect to Google and your online audience?
For a relatively new social media platform, Google Plus has expanded rapidly and gained momentum and popularity tantamount to Facebook and Twitter in just a few months. Much like these established social networking sites, Google Plus is now encouraging not only individual users but also businesses to join and create pages. Setting up a Google Plus page for your business is free, easy, and beneficial for building a community around your brand and driving traffic to your site.

In recent years, I have observed how the use of maintaining active accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, and various local listing sites has helped boost the online visibility of many of my Los Angeles website design clients. Not only have such efforts helped these businesses advance up the SERP's, they also served to grab the attention of many prospects that became their clients. It is already apparent that Google Plus offers similar benefits.

For starters, Google Plus is a Do Follow site with a page rank of 8 that lets you add links with anchor texts to your site. Additionally, Google Plus pages are getting indexed and included to search results for everything from bands to film trailers to companies just like yours. Among the recognizable brands already maintaining Google Plus pages are Macy’s, Burberry, The Muppets movie, Pepsi, the Dallas Cowboys, and (of course) Angry Birds.

Users can find a given page by going to Google and searching on them with "+" before the search term (ex: "+H&M"). Once they find you, they can add you to circles and vice versa. The more +1's you have, the greater your visibility and credibility with your desired audience. Having a Google Plus presence will, like your other social media profiles, allow you to interact with users directly to answer their questions and learn more about who they and how you can help each other.
