Video Conferencing on the Go: Do You ooVoo?

Are You Ready for the Virtual World Yet of Videon Conferencing?

According to a recent study by Global Industry Analysts, Inc., the international market for video conferencing is anticipated to reach approximately $11 billion by 2015, and that is not simply because the capability is trendy.

The use of video conferencing saves business owners, along with their employees and clients, time and travel expenses, not to mention promotes a forward-minded “green” company image by reducing the need to use air or road transport to bring call participants together.

Furthermore, this technology also preserves the human touch of face-to-face interaction even when individuals are based in remote locations with varying time zones, or on especially busy schedules.

Given that my Los Angeles website design and SEO company has offices and affiliates across the country and abroad, I certainly know the value of being able to conduct remote business efficiently and economically.

For the many business leaders in similar situations it makes perfect sense that an app like ooVoo Video Chat should make this innovation available in reliable mobile form.

Prior to the introduction of ooVoo, it was a bit tricky to find a simple but effective tool for video conferencing on a smartphone. However, this app is being praised by PCMag.com and other reviewers for its straightforward interface, hassle-free setup, and clear video image and audio over 3G, 4G, and Wifi. You can easily access and manage your contacts and history through a Spring Board strip located at the bottom of the screen.

Adding users is as simple as accessing your address book or searching for contacts already using the app based on their ooVoo ID or email. Once you’re connected, start a call, voice conference, or IM with a quick tap.

To start a group call of up to six participants, just go to the lower corner to access your address book and add the desired participants, or use a multiparty call option to call everyone simultaneously. Perhaps the one drawback of ooVoo is that it can only display one caller at a time on the screen, but switching back and forth can be accomplished by touching users’ names to pull them up.

ooVoo Video Chat is available as a free download for iPhone 4, iPad 2,  and Android 2.2 and up.
