Pet Potential

When business gets busy and stress levels rise, finding a way to keep up moral in the office can be a challenge. While one might easily assume that a thriving business in and of itself can bring about great moral, sometimes the lack of pause during the day can slowly whittle away at any good office vibe.

I may have found a little solution. And, when I say little, I mean 2 lbs. 2 oz. little, in the form of a tiny kitten. Having a tiny white-pawed feline in the office recently helped everyone smile and come together in a way that rarely happens when we are all rushing to meet deadlines and working with our headphones on. Despite initially fearing that a cute attention-seeking kitten would pose a serious distraction to my coworkers, she has proved to be quite easy going and happy to just wander around the office herself or purring on my lap. Please keep in mind that we usually have two cute dogs around for stress relief so it was good that they were not around when kitty came to work; if they were there surely would have been a lot of drama and distraction!

When life gets tough and the head starts to spin, having a pet at work can help lower stress and remind us all that we have a lot to be grateful for that we may sometimes take for granted. My gratitude for the unconditional love of little kitten and the two chipper pups somehow makes me love everything else just a little bit more and helps me to find gratitude for our clients, office, and the California sunshine all anew. I am especially grateful that no one in the office is allergic to cats and that the puppies are a little bark and no bite!
