Get TextExpander and Make Typing Less Tedious

How many times a day would you estimate you type "Thanks again for your help," "Running late. Be there in ten," "Thank you very much," and scores of other commonplace phrases, signatures, and abbreviations? While these formalities may feel like a nuisance, they can have a positive impact on how colleagues and prospective clients perceive your brand and professional persona so they should be de rigeur in your correspondence habits, and now with apps like TextExpander they take up a lot less time.

With the many routine daily tasks that are part of each of my Los Angeles website design clients' online marketing campaigns, I am a huge proponent of tools that speed things up while keeping accuracy intact, and that is what TextExpander does for mobile work and communication. Its autotyping and autocorrecting functions can be applied to greetings, signatures, indivdual phrases, and even HTML and CSS.

Once you've opened the program, you can begin adding customized abbreviations for the "snippets" you anticipate needing most frequently. Snippets can be grouped for easy reference and management, and typos can be speedily corrected with the TidBITS autocorrect dictionary, which contained over 2,400 commonly mistyped words. Extras include the option of syncing several Macs and MobileMe and embedding snippets into other snippets to adjust times, dates, and other information.

TextExpander is available from iTunes for iPhone and iPad (Mac OS X 10.7/10.5/Intel/Intel 10.6) for a free trial or a purchase of $29.95

Thanks for reading. Jason.
