Let Grindstone Gauge Your Task Completion Time

What are your most effective strategies for managing your time and helping your colleagues and employees to manage theirs? If this is something you haven't really thought about in terms of revising your work tactics for improved efficiency, it might just be because you don't have a reliable way to track the time devoted to various tasks and projects on given days. After all, variables like unexpected calls, meetings, minor emergencies, and other distractions make it difficult to gauge how much time a particular task takes up. Why fixate on watching a clock when a nice piece of freeware like Grindstone will do it for your workplace?

As my Los Angeles website design employees will probably attest, I'm fond of the question "How long did that take you?" It's not that I like to burn people out so much as have a rough idea of what they can realistically cover and, if I can, help them to do it better and more easily. However, I realize that in considerably larger enterprises, a more systematic way of tracking time spent is preferable, especially when it comes to filling out time sheets and invoices. That is exactly why Grindstone can be such a help.

To get a breakdown of time devoted to various projects over a period of time, simply pull up Grindstone and start its stopwatch. It will even keep track of time you spend away from your desk, and present the final results in both an easy-to-read color-coded pie chart and projected payroll estimate. Grindstone is available for free download from Epiforge.
